Due to the increasing amount of loyalty programmes and the change in which customers interact with social media today, there has been a significant change in consumer demands and expectations towards rewards. This trend was confirmed by a recent study from COLLOQUY, a US-based loyalty intelligence company, which concluded: Loyalty customers want to be rewarded with non-transactional rewards.
Simply, rewarding customers for activities other than spending!
Because the more focus you put on the overall customer relationship, rather than monetary exchanges, the stronger the bond between your brand and your customers.
According to the COLLOQUY study, 87% of the 1,500 customers surveyed, said, that they would join a loyalty program that offered rewards for activities other than spending and 83% are motivated by incentives for non-transactional activities, such as meeting certain ongoing threshold requirements for specific behaviours, talking about a company on social media, checking in to the brand’s location or simply subscribing to a newsletter.
